The content of the HALF Intervention and the HALF Diagnostic Assessment includes four strands of fractions knowledge:

• Identification
• Equivalence and comparison
• Addition and subtraction
• Multiplication and division

Each strand includes multiple concepts that were chosen to cover different aspects of the strand (e.g. finding an equivalent fraction vs ordering multiple fractions) as well as different classes of fractions (proper, improper, and mixed numbers).

This ensures that each strand includes multiple ways of representing fractions (e.g. words, pictures, symbols) and translations between these forms of representation.
